Maya Rogers is President and CEO of Blue Planet Software, the sole agent for the Tetris® brand. With a history that spans more than 30 years, Tetris is one of the leading and most distinctive video game brands and franchises in the world. Since 2007, Maya has led the worldwide business initiatives of the Tetris brand, including game development, global licensing, marketing, brand management, merchandising, and IP enforcement. Prior to heading Tetris, Maya steered cross-culturalization and development efforts for Sony Computer Entertainment America and American Honda.
In 2012, Maya co-founded Blue Startups, Hawaiʻi’s first venture accelerator, which helps early stage startups from Hawaiʻi and beyond accelerate their businesses with investments and mentoring. As of mid-2016, forty-seven companies have completed the Blue Startups program, attracting approximately $27 million in follow-in funding. Blue Startups is currently ranked as one of the top 20 accelerators in the U.S.
Maya was recognized as an emerging leader in Hawaiʻi Business Magazine’s 20 for the Next 20, Class of 2015. The following year, Pacific Business News named her as a 2016 Women to Watch honoree. These awards recognize Maya as an individual who has made major contributions to the state of Hawaiʻi, as well as a leader who is expected to have a significant impact on the state for years to come.
Maya currently serves on the boards of the American Red Cross Hawaiʻi Chapter, Smithsonian Asia Pacific American Center, Women’s Fund of Hawaiʻi, and The Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center of Security Studies. She is also a national council member of the Tiffany Circle, a Red Cross women’s philanthropist organization, and a member of the U.S.-Japan council, a non-profit dedicated to strengthening U.S.-Japan relations.
Maya holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Pepperdine University and an Executive MBA from Pepperdine Graziadio School of Business and Management.
